Mango Sago

I always like milky and sweet stuff and mangoes were on promotion at fair price.
I made this using the recipe from bossacafez.

Photobucket

Ingredients
  1. 2 ripe mangoes, cubed
  2. 400ml mango juice(carton juice's fine)
  3. 125ml evaporated milk
  4. 80g sago pearls (adjust to liking)
  5. 250ml water
  6. 2 tbsp sugar
  7. 1 tbsp corn starch mixture (achieved by mixing with 1tbsp water)
Directions
  1. Boil 250ml water and sugar together until the sugar has dissolved.
  2. Pour corn starch mixture into sugar syrup and stir over low heat to achieve a thick & smooth consistency. Set aside to cool.
  3. Add mango, mango juice, evaporated milk into sugar syrup.
  4. Stir well & add cooked sago.
  5. Chill before serving.
To cook sago :
  1. Soak sago in water for 30 mins.
  2. Boil a pot of water, add sago and bring to a boil.
  3. Turn off fire immediately.
  4. Cover with lid and let stand for 20 mins.
  5. Rinse under running water to prevent sago from turning into a googy mess.

I like her recipe. Yum yum yum but I still find cooking sago really troublesome.
